After your time in town, passengers will return to the train for the ride back to Louisa. As you sit back and take in the views from your seat, you’ll be served your choice of a delicious sweet treat, providing the perfect ending to a memorable experience.

Itinerary

Departure from Louisa
Board the Virginia Scenic Railway in Louisa and settle in for a relaxing ride through the Virginia countryside on your way to historic Gordonsville.

Arrival in Gordonsville
Upon arrival, guests will have approximately 1.5 hours of free time to explore the charming downtown area. Browse local shops, enjoy lunch at one of Gordonsville’s restaurants, visit local attractions, or simply take in the small-town atmosphere at your own pace.

Return Boarding
Guests will reboard the train in Gordonsville for the return journey to Louisa.

Return to Louisa
Sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenic ride back to Louisa as the excursion comes to a close.

The train departs from 105 Church Ave. Louisa, Virginia 23093
Plan to arrive at the Louisa platform 30 minutes before your selected train schedule.
Boarding begins 10 minutes prior to departure time. Our train cannot be held for late passengers.

Restrictions

For the best experience, we recommend that passengers be independently mobile for this excursion. Guests will deboard the train onto a gravel surface to enjoy free time exploring the charming town of Gordonsville before reboarding for the return journey.

• We always recommend dressing for the weather outside. The boarding location is outside and have minimal shelter from the elements. Once you have boarded you will be in a climate controlled environment.
• This excursion experience is approximately three hours. Train speed and duration may fluctuate during your adventure as our train operates on an active rail line handling other train traffic including Amtrak trains and freight trains. While we cannot guarantee an exact three-hour experience, our train crews will do their best to ensure you get the full duration of experience. All trains are round-trips – you will end up where you started.
