Enjoy a freshly prepared, sit-down meal aboard the Virginia Scenic Railway. We take pride in our food and our service.
Treat yourself to a memorable bistro-style meal aboard our signature excursion trains, the Louisa Flyer, Louisa Flyer Extended, and Sunday Brunch.
All meals must be ordered in advance. Selections are made when making your reservation. Once you’re on board, we’ll already know your choice and we will deliver it to your table so you can sit back and enjoy the ride.
For those with dietary restrictions, when making your dining selection please add special concerns in the comment section. Due to the nature of our food service facilities on the train, we cannot guarantee that there will be no cross contamination with possible allergens like nuts or gluten. Meatloaf with Gravy
Traditional meatloaf with mushroom and onion gravy, roasted squash and carrots with a dinner roll.
The meal is gluten free.
Chicken Pot Pie
Vegetables and chicken in a creamy gravy, topped with a flaky crust. Served with a side salad and a dinner roll.
Broccoli and Cheddar Pot Pie
Broccoli and veggies in a creamy cheese sauce, topped with flaky crust. Served with a side salad and dinner roll.
This meal is vegetarian.
Autumn Harvest Salad with Chicken
Marinated kale, chickpeas, quinoa, dried fruits, onions, feta cheese, pumpkin seeds, and spices apple cider vinaigrette. Served with cornbread.
This meal can be altered for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free diets.
Vegetarian Chili
Vegetarian chili topped with cheddar cheese, sour cream, and scallions. Served with cornbread.
This meal is vegetarian. Cornbread can be made gluten free.

House-baked sticky buns glazed with bourbon caramel and pecans, paired with sizzling sausage links and a side of baked apples.
BEER & WINE & CIDER
We regularly partner with local wineries and breweries across the state to stock a variety of your local favorites as well as our own house label wine. You will be able to order beer or wine for your excursion at an additional price in select classes of service onboard. Passengers must be 21 and over to be able to purchase alcohol.

Dry and medium bodied. 100% Albariño ages in stainless steel. Peach and citrus notes.

Dry medium bodied red blend. Bordeaux style, with notes of red fruit.
2024 Railway Rosé / Virginia Scenic Railway
Dry rosé made with cabernet franc. Notes of citrus and grapefruit. Bright and light.
Red Wine Sangria / Virginia Scenic Railway
Cabernet Franc blended with fruit and citrus juice. Served over ice. Bright, and refreshing.
2022 Petit Manseng / Wisdom Oak Winery
A semi-sweet wine aged for 9 months in stainless steel. Notes of honey and tropical fruit.
CRAFT BEER
Christmas Ale / Starr Hill
Rich spices and zesty orange. ABV: 7.1%
Northern Lights (IPA) / Starr Hill
Classic IPA. ABV: 6.2%
Parallel (IPA) / Starr Hill
A “near beer” IPA. brewed like regular beer, but the alcohol is removed naturally after fermentation, leaving this beverage nearly alcohol free. ABV: 0.5%

Aboard the Virginia Scenic Railway, you’ll get a front-row seat to some of Virginia’s prettiest views, including the legendary Shenandoah Valley and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Depending on the excursion you choose, you’ll roar through tunnels, speed over bridges, race past scenic fields and forests, and climb over mountains.
